We support all aspects of using IT at Cardiff Met. We deal with password issues and computer problems; we can help with the wi-fi and give advice on purchasing IT hardware and software. For any IT query, you can contact us by phone, email or by logging a ticket on our support portal, Halo. Alternatively you can stop by the support desks in the Learning Centres.
Halo is the IT support portal and is the first place you should go to for help. In Halo you can check system availability and view knowledge base articles, which may help you solve the issue yourself. There is also the option to chat to support staff and log and review IT support tickets.
Information on our opening hours can be found on our opening hours page.

The IT Helpdesk is the first point of contact for any IT related issue or query. We provide 1st line support and general IT advice for both students and staff across the University.
We aim to resolve your query as quickly as possible by either remotely connecting to your machine to fix the issue, providing you with the relevant information needed or escalating the call to one of our IT Advisors who will visit you directly.
All calls are managed within our Halo Service Desk system and will be prioritised according to the nature of the issue.
The objectives of IT Security at Cardiff Met are to maintain availability of IT services, to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of information resources and to ensure that computer usage complies with relevant legislation.
An important part of this is related to the measures put in place by Library and Information Services to protect information resources. Many of these occur in background so you may not be aware that that they are happening.
