Our libraries are open to a diverse range of individuals, including members of the public who are 18 years or over, alumni and students and staff from other universities.
Anyone can visit Cyncoed or Llandaff library during our staffed opening hours to use our study spaces and browse the resources on our shelves and use them for reference. You can search our library catalogue MetSearch from home, or from the Library Catalogue PCs on each floor of the Library.
To borrow books, you need to become an external member of the library.
While visiting, you can connect your own device to our Guest Wi-Fi network. Visitors from other universities that use the Eduroam network can also access it on our campuses.
The Walk-in Access scheme allows Community Borrowers, SCONUL users, and visitors to access a variety of electronic resources.
To view the available resources, please visit Cardiff Met's Databases A-Z and review the Permitted Users for the desired database.
The resources can only be accessed on designated computer terminals in the Library. Remote access is not permitted due to the license terms with our providers.
The scheme is available at both Cyncoed and Llandaff Libraries during our staffed opening hours. Each time you use the service, you'll need to sign and agree to the Walk-in Access Terms and Conditions and provide proof of identity.
