Digital Skills Training

The Digital Skills team are pleased to offer Cardiff Met students a range of training courses that develop digital skills that are relevant to your studies and will prepare you for employment. All courses lead to certifications - evidence of your skills you can easily share with employers and peers through LinkedIn and social media.

The first step is to complete the Digital Essentials induction. By completing the induction, you will learn about the technologies and practices that will enable you to complete your studies when learning in person and when learning online.

If you already have your Cardiff Met account, you can complete the first element of the induction now. Simply follow the link to the Digital Essentials page, sign-in with your Cardiff Met ID (st12345678@outlook.cardiffmet.ac.uk) and complete the brief e-lesson where you will learn about your IT account, essential IT systems, facilities and services on campus and crucial digital security advice.

Having completed the induction e-lesson, you will then attend two training sessions in welcome week to learn two core skills for studying at Cardiff Met – communicating effectively through Microsoft Teams and managing your documents.

The wider IT team provide support and guidance on all aspects of using IT at Cardiff Met. The team can get you connected to the wi-fi and give advice on purchasing IT hardware and software.

For any IT query, you can phone us on +44 (0)29 20417000 or email us. Alternatively, you can stop by the IT Helpdesk in the Learning Centres.
