Sometimes called academic skills, Academic Practice refers to the behaviours, abilities, strategies and thought processes that help you become a better student. Examples include academic writing, critical thinking, or presentation skills.

This is a search option in MetSearch and most Databases in the Databases A-Z. Advanced search lets you search very specifically. For example, you can search for words from the title of a book, or by author. You can easily recognise an advanced search as it has two or three search boxes which can be combined using Boolean, which gives you more control over your search.

In the English language, this is a way of listing words in the following order: A, B, C, etc. This order is sometimes called an A to Z or A-Z or ABC. For example, our Databases A-Z uses this alphabetical order for listing databases.
