Please see the table below for our current schedule of Library & Academic Practice workshops - use the booking link to book your place on a session via MetHub, Cardiff Met's event booking platform. Workshops run from early October onwards and the topic area scheduling loosely reflects the processes involved in preparing a piece of assessed work for submission during the Autumn Term e.g. research, reading, planning your argument, writing critically.

Having Trouble Logging into Microsoft Teams (work or school)?

What is the problem?

Your Microsoft Teams app or web browser stores cookies that remember previous login information which can prevent you from signing in with the correct work or school account e.g. your Cardiff Met student account (st*********@cardiffmet.ac.uk).

If you're being automatically logged into the wrong work or school account, or can't log in properly, this guide will help you access your Cardiff Met Teams account using Private Browsing.

What is the solution?

Using private browsing solves this problem because it:

  • Prevents automatic login to the wrong account: - private browsing does not use existing cookies to automatically log you in to an account, thereby enabling you to manually login to the correct account.
  • Creates a fresh start - private browsing forgets all previous login information.

How to use Private Browsing

For Google Chrome (Incognito Mode):

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots (menu icon) in the top-right corner of the browser window.
  3. From the dropdown menu, click on "New Incognito Window".
  4. A new window will appear, showing "Incognito Mode".
  5. In this new window, go to the Teams meeting link you were provided (or type in the URL directly).
  6. Sign in to Microsoft Teams using your work or school account. Make sure to enter your login information manually.
  7. Once logged in, you should be able to join the meeting as usual.

For Microsoft Edge (InPrivate Mode):

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click on the three horizontal dots (menu icon) in the top-right corner.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select "New InPrivate window".
  4. A new window will open with an "InPrivate" message.
  5. Go to the Teams meeting link provided (or type in the URL directly).
  6. Sign in with your work or school account.
  7. Once logged in, you should be able to join the meeting as usual.

For Mozilla Firefox (Private Browsing Mode):

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) in the top-right corner.
  3. From the dropdown, click on "New Private Window".
  4. A new window will open, indicating you're in Private Browsing mode.
  5. Enter the Teams meeting link into the address bar, or paste the link directly.
  6. Sign in with your work or school login credentials.
  7. Once logged in, you should be able to join the meeting as usual.
