Welcome Back!
There’s a lot going on at the start of any new term. A new round of academic workshops will be launching; new book displays going up; some new students arriving; and new classes being taken. But here are four things external to Cardiff Met you may wish to put on your calendar for the coming month:
1) 20th -26th: Health Information Week.
Health Information Week is a campaign promoting high-quality health information for patients and the public. Find out how to get health help you can trust here (Public Information|Health Information Week) & keep an eye on our Instagram, @cardiffmetlearn, for resources that week!
2) 27th: Holocaust Memorial Day
Holocaust Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for the millions of people murdered through the Nazi persecution of Jewish people and other groups, as well as the victims of more recent genocides. For more information, visit Holocaust Memorial Day Trust
3) January 24: International Day of Education
Education is a human right, and the International Day of Education celebrates the importance of education for all. On the 24th, take a moment to think about a positive impact an educator has had on you- whether that’s here, at Cardiff Met, or at some other time in your life. And whether you’re training to go to into education, as many at Cardiff Met are, or your path lies elsewhere, consider what kind of lessons you want to pass on to the people around you as you go through your life.
4) January 29-31: Chinese New Year Celebrations
The New Lunar Year begins on the 29th January, and ushers in the Year of the Snake. The Library team at Cardiff Met wishes everyone a Happy New Year!
